AMY AKMAL
Amy Akmal (Elected to the board in 2022) has worked in public relations for more than two decades, including at public relations agencies, in the aerospace and defense sector, and academia.
Amy served as the on-site crisis lead for the 2014 SpaceShipTwo incident in Mojave, Calif., and planned the public memorial service for fallen test pilot Michael Alsbury at Lancaster Municipal Stadium (“The Hangar”).
She currently runs her own communications agency, STAKE Investor Relations, which supports high-growth technology companies with go-to-market strategies, including investor relations, crisis and reputation management, media relations, branding and creative services, and industry events.
Amy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in sociology, and a master’s degree in strategic public relations from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communications. Amy is a Life Patron of the Flight Test Historical Foundation.
