JOHN TALLICHET
CEO, SPECIALTY RESTAURANTS

With over 35 years of restaurant industry experience, John D. Tallichet has successfully led Specialty Restaurants Corporation as CEO for more than 20 years, where he is responsible for the company’s restaurant, real estate and aviation divisions.
John started his restaurant career in the kitchen at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant at Van Nuys Airport. He has worked summer positions in many restaurants and with Security Pacific Bank (Bank of America) until he began his full-time career in 1987 with a position in the Kitchen at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills.
In addition to working extensively in the restaurant division, John oversaw the company’s real estate division as VP of Real Estate and VP of Restaurant Operations and in 2003 was promoted to President of Specialty Restaurants.
Holding MBA degrees from Haas Business School at UC Berkeley and Columbia Business School at Columbia University, John is also a graduate of the University of Southern California and attended the California Culinary Academy, short course program.
John is a Past Chair of the California Restaurant Association Board and serves on the CRA’s Orange County Board of Directors and was a Past Chair of California Restaurant Foundation. He now serves on the National Restaurant Association Board of Directors. He also serves as a board member of the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ and is a trustee of the Flight Test Historical Foundation at Edwards AFB. An active member of the Young Presidents Organization, John lives in Newport Beach with his wife Karen and has two children.
