WEI “FUG” LEE

ROLE: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, USAF TEST PILOT SCHOOL

BIO: Chiawei (Wei) Lee is currently an assistant professor and Test Management Program Director at the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base. Prior to TPS, he worked at the test safety office, where he was responsible for conducting independent safety reviews on all projects executing at Edwards AFB. His previous test experience includes electronic warfare and weapons testing on the F-16, F-22, F-35, B-1, and B-2 platforms. “I do this job because I love being able to influence the next generation of leaders in flight test. I also love to fly the unique airplanes that test pilot school has access to. When I was in third grade, I wanted to be an Air Force pilot so I am living the dream!”

Mr. Lee was born in Taiwan and grew up in Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University.

His advice to our students is to “work hard and be awesome at whatever role or job you’re in at the moment. After a while, you will earn a reputation as a positive contributor and better opportunities will find you. I love my job now but growing up I worked as a busboy, waiter, private tutor, preschool/daycare teacher, lab technician, and engineering intern.”
