FMR. PRESIDENT, HOOVER TREATED WOOD PRODUCTS
Barry received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1970. He served at Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. for over 50 years in various capacities and as its President & CEO from 1984 until his retirement in 2023. He led the company in its growth from a southeastern regional manufacturer to become the largest manufacturer of fire-retardant treated wood both nationally and internationally.
He was selected by the Georgia Institute of Technology as a member of their Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni.
Barry has served on numerous industry, professional and community boards and organizations including the Society of American Wood Preservers, American Wood Protection Association, Western Wood Preservers Institute, Forest Products Society, Treated Wood Council and Briarwood Academy.
He resides in Washington, Georgia with his wife Liz and golden retriever Barron.
