SHELLY SHEPHERD

Shelly has resided in the Antelope Valley for nearly 20 years. She has a love for volunteering in philanthropic, education and not-for-profit charitable associations in her community. She has served as the PTA President at Joe Walker Elementary and Valley View Elemenary Schools where she was voted the Westside Union School District Volunteer of the Year in 2016. Additionally, she has held various board positions Quartz Hill Little League and Quartz Hill American Youth Soccer Association local organizations. Shelly, together with her children, co-founded “Play it Forward” in 2014 which has collected over 5,000 pieces of baseball equipment and is donated to underprivileged kids throughout Los Angeles County. Shelly’s current passion is caring for mistreated and abandoned pets at the Community Effort Animal Rescue in Littlerock. Shelly’s connection with aerospace runs deep as she is the spouse of a career flight test Air Force veteran and professional, with a journey that has taken her and her family to Mather, McChord, Wright-Patterson and Edwards Air Force Bases. She has served as a volunteer paralegal in the Judge Advocate General office at the Air Force Test Center. Shelly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Central Washington University. Professionally, Shelly held positions in accounting and as a legal assistant before focusing full-time on her family and charitable efforts. Shelly is thrilled to be associated with the exciting and important mission of the Flight Test Historical Foundation. Shelly and her husband Dr. Mike Shepherd are Sapphire Life Friends of Flight Test Museum.
